PRACTICE

William Lowe QC has undertaken serious cases right across the spectrum of criminal offences since his appointment as Queen's Counsel including murder, Health and Safety prosecutions, corporate manslaughter and fraud. He also has considerable experience in the fields of clinical negligence and personal injury, which includes industrial disease work, in particular asbestos related diseases resulting from exposure in shipbuilding and other industrial settings.

  • R v Bradway Construction
    Health and Safety prosecution. Representing company arising out of a fatal accident with 3 victims arising out of the failure of a cradle in Sheffield.

  • R v Mascarenas & ors
    Fraud. Investors in Allied Dunbar deceived into parting with their savings to Merchant Barncorp credit and Commerce Ltd. Advance fee fraud Zircon Airways-Benin West Africa.

  • R v Chenia & ors
    Fraudulent land acquisition and long firm fraud.

  • R v Onyett
    Patricide. Instructed by Vymans

  • HSE v Doncaster MBC [Seiles deceased]
    HSE prosecution against Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council. Fatal electrocution of heating/air conditioning contractor.

  • Spelman v Newcastle City Council (Newcastle Crown Court and the Divisional Court)
    Representing The Taxi Drivers Association in a case involving “The Black Cab Rule”. Establishing a mixed fleet in Newcastle. Instructed in several similar cases by Drivers’ Associations across the North of England.

    Racially aggravated murder.

  • R v Woodhouse
    Step-father -murder of girlfriend’s baby.

  • R v Hart & Ors.
    Drug related murder

  • R v Epton
    Murder of elderly man in his own home by 15 year old boy.

    Murder. Deceased buried in a shallow grave. Complex soil and pollen issues.
