EXPERIENCE

Property/Landlord and Tenant

Experience across a wide range of residential and commercial property and landlord and tenant work including the following:

 

- residential tenancies, including nuisance related injunctions and evictions

- rent and housing benefit issues

- disrepair

- business tenancies including renewals and forfeitures

- construction of leases

- leasehold enfranchisement and lease extensions

- service charge disputes

- easements, covenants, rights of way and boundary disputes

- mortgages

- constructive trusts

- Party Wall Act disputes

- agricultural tenancies

- adverse possession

Laura has advocacy experience in the Privy Council (Permission Hearings and Substantive Appeals), the Court of Appeal, the High Court, including the Technology and Construction Court, the County Court, the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal and the Rent Assessment Committee.

 

Employment

Extensive experience in the Employment Tribunal and experience in the Employment Appeal Tribunal, representing both employers and employees in unfair and constructive dismissal cases; sex, race and disability claims; wage disputes including holiday pay, and equal pay claims. Laura also has experience of restrictive covenant cases, and has a particular interest in disability discrimination claims.

 

Personal Injury

Claimant work, including a number of high value complex claims. Laura has dealt with a large number of employer liability claims involving multiple breaches of statutory duties. She is also experienced in dealing with chronic pain cases. She is happy to attend round table negotiations and settlement meetings.
