Thomas More Chambers has a specialist family team experienced in all areas of family law. Chambers has a dynamic team of barristers who are able to offer experience, advice and representation at all levels of litigation. The team is instructed by a mixture of clients and prides itself on its ability to handle cases across the spectrum whilst not losing sight of the personal commitment and sensitivity which such cases merit. The Family Team undertakes work in all areas of family law and aims to provide not just an excellent legal service, but a practical solution to family litigation. As part of the overall approach of the team, some of our members are also trained in Alternative Dispute Resolution, both as Collaborative lawyers and Family Mediators (having received training with the organisations Resolution and Family Mediators Association) dealing with both financial and children disputes. The Family Team has also provided expert evidence on English family law issues for overseas courts. In some cases members of the Family Team are able to act on a Direct Public Access basis, that is, in certain circumstances members of the public and other organisations can instruct a barrister directly. Our clerks are always happy to discuss your needs and advise appropriately on particular barristers within the team and their specialisms.

Members of the Family Team are members of the Family Law Bar Association and also Resolution. Many members of the Family Team speak other languages and are happy to communicate with clients in languages other than English.

The Family Team regularly contributes to publications including Family Law Week, International Family Law and Resolution magazine as well as participating in conferences and external seminars for Resolution, the College of Law, Practical Law Company and MBL Seminars.

The Family Team are also regular contributors to our on-going seminar programme to our professional clients and all family law seminars are accredited for CPD points. The notes for such seminars are available here. Please do contact us if you would like to be added to our guest list for such seminars in the future. Additionally barristers in the Family Team are able to give in-house family law seminars.
