The members of the Criminal Team offer substantial experience and ability in all aspects of the criminal law, from the simplest road traffic matter to the most complex commercial fraud.

We specialise in defending cases involving white collar fraud and financial offences, drug trafficking, serious sexual offences including child abuse and crimes of violence. Our criminal practitioners have a proven track record in the defence of accountants, solicitors, civil servants, surveyors and other professional people and are experienced in dealing with cases with a high public profile or of a sensitive nature.

Whilst the majority of our work is undertaken on behalf of defence solicitors, we do accept instructions to prosecute for local authorities in trading standards and health & safety matters.

Several members of the Criminal Team are willing to conduct appeals in cases where they were not instructed in the original Crown Court proceedings. Certain members of chambers appear before the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in Commonwealth appeals.

Individual members of the Criminal Team have developed expertise in particular areas: Extradition, Judicial review & Habeas Corpus, High Court confiscation proceedings, Courts Martial proceedings, Firearms Law, Human Rights, Prison Law, Mental Health Review Tribunal, Solicitor's Disciplinary Tribunal and the determination of legal aid cost claims.
