Prior to his pupillage at Thomas More Chambers, Ravinder taught Employment Law at the University of Buckingham and Capital Punishment Law at the University of Oxford. In 2004-5 he spent a year as a Law Clerk in New Orleans and Atlanta, USA working on capital cases and appeals.
Ravinder became a tenant in October 2008.
Whilst in pupillage he worked on a number of terrorism cases both at trial and on appeal. He also assisted in a cross-border ancilliary relief dispute and a substantial personal injury claim for child abuse.
During his second six months, he represented defendants in both the Magistrates and Crown Courts on a range of offences including robbery and drugs supply. He is currently representing a property development company for breach of planning and listed building notices.
Ravinder is developing his practice in Employment Law. Recently, he represented a finance assistant in a 3 day unfair redundancy dismissal and breach of contract dispute. He has also represented a nurse in a 5 day case involving race and sex discrimination.
Ravinder has experience of Property law and has acted for both Landlords and Tenants in the County Court. In a recent case, he advised a commercial landlord on tenant insolvency and the recovery of service charges.
Ravinder is also interested in public and human rights law. He is currently instructed in a judicial review of criminal proceedings and has assisted in a number of applications for special leave to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.
