EXPERIENCE

Family
Victoria undertakes all areas of family work, including children, ancillary relief, domestic violence/ injunctions, divorce and nullity proceedings. She has conducted ancillary relief proceedings in the High Court involving cross-jurisdiction issues. In line with her common law practice, she has a particular awareness of the impact of other areas of law, including insolvency/ bankruptcy, confiscation in criminal proceedings, and the prosecution of breaches of injunctions in the criminal courts. She accepts instructions in both private and legal aid matters.
Civil
Victoria has a general civil practice with a particular emphasis on the areas of employment law (acting for both Claimants and Respondents) and personal injury, including advising on liability, evidence and quantum in cases at various levels and settling pleadings. She also has experience in bankruptcy proceedings, and contractual disputes. Victoria is willing to consider instructions on a conditional fee basis.
Crime
Victoria has experience in the Youth, Magistrates’ and Crown Court, prison adjudications and has appeared in the Court of Appeal as sole counsel. She has successfully defended in prosecutions by the Environment Agency and is also instructed by the DVLA. She defends regularly in driving matters. She has experience of civil proceedings in a criminal context, including confiscation proceedings, ASBOs and closure orders. She is often instructed on behalf of clients who are vulnerable and/or have special needs.
