EXPERIENCE

Puneet Rai joined Thomas More as a junior tenant in October 2005 after successful completion of pupillage. She has a general common law practice in line with Chambers’ profile comprising of considerable advocacy and advisory experience. She has extensive trial experience and appears regularly in the Crown Court, County Court and the High Court.

 

Crime

Puneet has a wide range of experience in defending criminal cases in the Crown Court. She undertakes trials for varied offences, including fraud, drugs, sex and matters involving serious violence. She also acts as Junior Counsel in cases of serious and complex crime: recent cases include defending in a VHCC multi-handed multi-million pound diversion fraud and in a multi-handed conspiracy to import class A drugs. She also has experience of Courts Martial and regularly undertakes Regulatory work, with particular experience in licensing matters.

 

Family

Puneet appears regularly in the FPC, County Courts and High Court in cases relating to all areas of Family Law, with a particular specialism in Private Law Children Act matters, Ancillary Relief, Family Violence and Divorce/Nullity Petitions.
