PRACTICE

David Gottlieb specialises in Criminal Law, Public Law and Human Rights.

EXPERIENCE

He has an extensive criminal defence practice and has developed expertise in terrorism cases and judicial review applications.

David's practice includes cases of murder, firearms, drug importation, money laundering, fraud, terrorism, control orders and extradition.

David's commitment and dedication to his work ensures that he fights his cases diligently. He is willing to raise arguments for dimissal at the preliminary stages of proceedings, if necessary.

He is attributed for taking cases to appeal level. David is not hesitant to take cases to the administrative courts, to raise arguments about the reasonableness of the legal framework and procedure, whenever so required. David has recently made a successful judicial review application in the administrative courts, which resulted in a more open criminal justice system allowing the public to be present when a bail application is made in criminal cases.

David presently represents an individual charged under section 57 and 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000. He represents an individual under a control order who has been charged for breach of the control order (the first breach since this legislation came into force). David is involved in extradition proceedings of a British citizen due to be extradited to the United States of America.
